FY26 ND EPSCoR NSF Proposal Resubmission Program

The NSF Proposal Resubmission Program provies PIs funds to access resources for improving an already highly-rated proposal for resubmission. The program funds can only be used for an unfunded proposal with reviews received within the past 6 months. We encourage individuals with highly rated but unfunded proposals of all sizes and in all NSF Directorates to apply.

FY26 ND EPSCoR PUI & TCU Pre-Planning Grant Program

To better support researchers in ND to build capacity and competitiveness through National Science Foundation (NSF) awards, especially the E-RISE and E-CORE, a pre-planning grant program is being offered for PUI and TCU institutions in ND. These awards are to initiate early-stage team building and project ideation by providing the necessary resources to convene and help catalyze collaborative, interdisciplinary, and interinstitutional conversations.

Allocated funds: $20,000

FY26 STEM Research Seed Award

ND EPSCoR seeks to provide STEM research seed awards of up to $60,000 in direct costs to researchers at ND institutions of higher education. Funding will be provided to faculty for the specific purpose of generating preliminary data needed to support the preparation of a STEM proposals for submission to a federal agency.

FY26 Undergraduate STEM Research and Education

The ND EPSCoR State Office is now accepting proposals to fund undergraduate STEM research activities at Tribal Colleges and Universities and Primarily Undergraduate Institutions within our jurisdiction.

Allocated funds: $200,000

Students in Technology Transfer and Research (STTAR)

The Students in Technology Transfer and Research (STTAR) program provides upper-division students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with an opportunity to use their academic training and experience to address the most challenging science and technology-based problems faced by North Dakota companies. The primary emphasis of STTAR is on research and development rather than sales and marketing. ND EPSCoR cost- shares the student wage at $10.00 per hour. Interns must be paid a minimum wage of $18/hour. Businesses are to identify, recruit, and hire their student interns.
