support our mission
ND EPSCoR provides leadership and coordination to broaden and diversify North Dakota's science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) workforce pathway from elementary through graduate school; supports and grows statewide STEM research efforts and competitiveness at participating institutions of higher education; and conveys the impact of STEM research, outreach, and workforce efforts to North Dakota stakeholders.
Our programs
Our work reaches across the state. Some of the programs we support include:
-
Nurturing American Tribal Undergraduate Research and Education (NATURE), which aims to improve STEM education among middle school, high school, and tribal college students.
-
New Discoveries in the Advanced Interface of Computation, Engineering, and Science (ND-ACES), in which researchers are working to understand cancer metastasis by using an integrated approach to understand and define the complex mechanisms that govern interactions between individual cells and their environment.
-
Rural Student Teaching Experience (RSTE), which funds student teachers in STEM fields while they live and work in rural communities.
-
Students in Technology Transfer And Research (STTAR), which provides upper-division STEM students with an opportunity to use their academic training and experience to address challenging science and technology-based problems faced by North Dakota companies.
While we are able to fund the majority of our programming needs through state and federal funding, there are some expenses we have that we cannot meet through our primary funding sources. Those include some of costs we incur to support our NATURE program, like recreational activities during youth camps, as well as awards for student presentations at our annual conference. Your tax-deductible donation in any amount will help us continue to fulfill our mission to grow the STEM workforce and research community in North Dakota.
