Concurrent Presentation Session 1

This presentation provides a summary of several recent projects that have been conducted to develop new artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. These include the development of a hybrid AI system that mitigates the potential for hallucination and bias, while still allowing neural network-style training to be implemented, a system for populating this type of network using a large language model (LLM) and a technology for enhancing LLM creativity. Each builds on prior AI techniques such as LLMs, neural networks and expert systems, combining them together to produce a synergistic capability and enhancing them with newly developed functionality. This presentation provides a brief overview of each of these recently developed technologies. It then turns its focus to how these technologies can be utilized in various application areas. Two to three application area use concepts are presented for each of the three technologies discussed. Then, the presentation discusses how each technology could support a variety of different future projects. It concludes with a brief discussion of areas of planned future work and potential areas that could support collaborative efforts with others in the region.
