Biodiesel has been placed as an auspicious substitute for fossil fuels in compression ignition engines. This research examines the operational qualities of a diesel engine in biodiesel and analyzes the performance in contrast to diesel fuel. Test inspections were carried out under a controlled environment in various speed and load ranges using a water brake dynamometer. The parameters that were taken into account are engine speed, torque, power, COx & NOx, exhaust gas temperature, fuel consumption, air-fuel ratio, ambient condition (temperature and relative humidity), and engine temperature. The findings point out a trade-off between accomplishments and viability while replacing traditional diesel with biodiesel, indicating an optimization in the application of biodiesel in conventional compression ignition engines.
