United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) has witnessed transformative growth in student research, training, and academic success through sustained support from the North Dakota EPSCoR program. Over the past several years, EPSCoR-funded equipment awards have enabled the establishment of a state-of-the-art chemistry lab, where students gain hands-on experience in structural and electrochemical material characterization, analytical techniques, and solid-state synthesis. These resources have created meaningful opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in research, present their findings at conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Notably, several students from the UTTC chemistry lab—Amara, Sam, Audrey, and Tanner—have successfully secured graduate school admissions with assistantships, demonstrating the long-term impact of early research exposure and mentoring. This presentation will highlight research outcomes, student achievements, and the essential role of EPSCoR’s support in cultivating the next generation of Native scientists and STEM leaders.
