Poster #9

The ENDURE (Enhancing the North Dakota Undergraduate Research Ecosystem) initiative is establishing a collaborative, nine-campus network to scale undergraduate research across North Dakota. Bringing together two research-intensive universities (NDSU and UND), five primarily undergraduate institutions (Minot State University, Dickinson State University, Valley City State University, University of Jamestown, and University of Mary), and two Tribal institutions (Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College and United Tribes Technical College), ENDURE leverages regional strengths to advance undergraduate research and contribute to STEM workforce development. The collaborators are building towards a full NSF E-CORE submission in Summer 2027. Planning initiatives center on three strategic goals: (1) auditing and optimizing research infrastructure through shared equipment, maintenance, and library access; (2) fostering inter-institutional partnerships through graduate teaching apprenticeships, industry engagement, and revitalizing the role of the North Dakota Academy of Science in research dissemination; and (3) establishing a digital research hub for promoting undergraduate research and developing models to increase faculty research capacity. This poster presents the framework, operational roadmap, and core objectives of the ENDURE planning phase. Conference attendees - including faculty, administrators, researchers, and community partners - are invited to learn about the network, offer feedback, and explore opportunities for participation and alignment prior to the full E-CORE submission.
