NSF Proposal Resubmission Program
The NSF Proposal Resubmission Program provides PIs funds to access resources for improving an already highly-rated proposal for resubmission. The program funds can only be used for an unfunded proposal with reviews received within the past 6 months. We encourage individuals with highly rated but unfunded proposals of all sizes and in all NSF Directorates to apply.
Submission deadline: Open submission until May 31, 2026
Eligible: Faculty at ND EPSCoR participating institutions
PUI & TCU Pre-Planning Grant Program
To better support researchers in ND to build capacity and competitiveness through NSF awards, especially the E-RISE and E-CORE, a pre-planning grant program is being offered for PUI and TCU institutions in ND. These awards are to initiate early-stage team building and project ideation by providing the necessary resources to convene and help catalyze collaborative, interdisciplinary, and interinstitutional conversations.
Submission deadline: Open submission until June 30, 2026
Eligible: Faculty at PUIs and TCUs
STEM Outreach Activities (Limited submission)
The ND EPSCoR State Office is accepting proposals to fund STEM outreach activities lead by institutions of higher education, STEM science museums, and/or technology parks located in North Dakota. Engagement of faculty and researchers is highly encouraged. Proposals will be accepted that focus on activities that build stronger STEM education and STEM identity for youth in the state. Of particular interest are activities that engage students and result in an increased awareness and interest in STEM careers.
Submission deadline: 11:59 pm CST on December 19, 2025
Eligible: Faculty, science museums, technology parks
ND EPSCoR seeks to provide STEM research seed awards of up to $60,000 in direct costs to researchers at ND institutions of higher education. Funding will be provided to faculty for the specific purpose of generating preliminary data needed to support the preparation of a STEM proposal for submission to a federal agency.
Submission deadline: 11:59 pm CDT, January 30, 2026
Eligible: Applications must be led and submitted by a faculty member employed in the ND University System or ND Tribal College System. Applicants are welcome to collaborate with faculty from any North Dakota institution of higher education.
Undergraduate STEM Research and Education
The ND EPSCoR State Office is now accepting proposals to fund undergraduate STEM research activities at Tribal Colleges and Universities and Primarily Undergraduate Institutions within the state. Proposals are open for two categories: equipment and undergraduate research.
